INTERROGATION DAYS
VOLUMES I & II
by RM Haines
The poems collected here begin by thinking about the “War on Terror,” drones & torture, the CIA, & the psychic miasma of the Bush II era. The second volume expands further into the present day, responding to the pandemic, police violence, & encroaching fascism. Informed by the Sufi idea of the heart as seat of imagination, the poems struggle with the role of poetry as a world-creating activity in an age of imperialist warfare and state violence.
