NEW RELEASES

Announcing stevie redwood’s Intifada & RM Haines’s Poem at the Going Rate

Today, I’m excited to announce that two new chapbooks are available for pre-order:

  • Intifada, by stevie redwood, written during the first four months of Al-Aqsa Flood, responds from afar to Israel’s genocidal assault on Palestine. Dedicated to the Palestinian resistance and to militants everywhere, Intifada is written in this spirit while also being acutely sensitive to the political limitations of poetry. With intelligence and ire, the poems fight against their own linguistic confines to forge solidarities, confront hypocrisies in the imperial core, and denounce the forces of colonialism, zionism, and liberalism. Intifada is a living mirror held up against a regime of death and a statement of love to the Palestinian people and their resistance.

  • Poem at the Going Rate, by RM Haines,  is both an homage to the punk band the Minutemen and a poetic essay on art, eternity, and capitalism. Written in late summer of 2023, the voice inhabits a kind of collective personality, blending Minutemen lyrics and lore, the poet’s own fascinations, and various psychic scraps found along the way. The style is both aphoristic and propulsive, creating a montage of careening, end-stopped lines, each one eager to break into the next. Whether you know the band’s music or not, these poems are for you: they are here to collide against impediments and amplify the ecstatic noise of life.

Both books will ship the week of March 18th! You can see pricing and place an order here:

During the pre-order period, the press will be donating 50% of its income as usual. Additionally, stevie will be waiving all income from their book, meaning 75% of each sale of Intifada will be donated. Funds from both books’s sales will be going to Samidoun, the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network. According to their website, “[Samidoun] work[s] to raise awareness and provide resources about Palestinian political prisoners, their conditions, their demands, and their work for freedom for themselves, their fellow prisoners, and their homeland.” DMP is proud to support this international work, and we continue to stand in support of a free Palestine, against Israeli occupation, and for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

Lastly, during this time, I am extending the sale of the press’s books from 2023. That means all six books published in 2023 are still $6 each, with all of that money going into the writers’ pockets. This is DMP's way of celebrating its writers who helped make 2023 such a meaningful year for the press. To order a book on sale, follow the link below and just cut the prices in half.

That is all for now! Be on the look out for more info about stevie’s book in coming weeks. And thank you for reading!
